London Fashion Week came to a close on the 18th September with Ashish presenting his school uniform and sequins inspired collection and Mulberry’s leather clad models sashaying down the runway at the Somerset House.
Mulberry
Mulberry’s creative director Emma Hill cites English country garden in the seventies as inspiration for the brand’s Spring Summer 2013 collection. There were soft leather trousers and skirts that came in tan, white and black. The colour palette was light peach, mint green and other pastel shades reflecting the colours of the English garden.

Burberry Prorsum
In contrast to Mulberry’s English Garden inspired colour palette, Burberry’s was a mix of metallic blue, green and berry hues. There were capes, trench coats and dresses in leather and silk and matching shoes and handbags in neon shades.

Mary Katrantzou
Mary Katrantzou, the queen of prints, gave a wonderful presentation of prints that appeared as stamps and currency on free flowing dresses, trouser suits and skirts. The colours were also more subtle this time deviating from the super bright hues of her previous collections.

Ashish
Ashish’s collection was school uniform and sequins inspired in the form of loose white shirts, sequined skirts and shorts and dresses. The models also wore big glasses in ‘Ugly Betty’ style and messy hair to complete the look.

Christopher Kane
Christopher Kane’s collection was Frankenstein-inspired with skirts and dresses in fluid and textured fabrics and a colour palette of salmon pink and pale yellow. The skirts and dresses in soft shades were sometimes combined with tougher looking biker jackets and at other times blended with even softer whites.
