Oh we love Twilight and the cast, Rob Pattison, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Kristen Stewart’s first film was “The Panic Room” in which she played Jodie Foster’s daughter. We have followed Kristen’s style evolution from her appearing in jeans and shirt to movie premieres to wearing top designer dresses.

It was one rainy Friday afternoon that I decided to go to the Besant Nagar Beach (Bessie, as it is popularly called) to enjoy the cloudy monsoon weather. The roads leading to the Besant Nagar Elliots beach are a shopper’s haven and even as you traipse down the avenues, one gets bitten by the shopping bug and the infection lures you to tiny little shopping coves.

One such charming little spot on the 2^nd Avenue road is ‘Roovy’. ‘Roovy’ stocks very stylish apparel for men, women and kids. The women’s section is mostly filled with Western apparel such as shirts, denims, summer dresses, halter tops, Jersey dresses, jackets, waistcoats, pyjamas, shorts, T-Shirts. They have corsets, spaghettis and tube tops in various colors and styles. But what they might not have is size options.

Kurta loyalists also have reasons to rejoice as Roovy also stocks colourful ethnic apparel with beautiful prints and surface embellishments.

The Kid’s section is a colourful affair with plenty to choose from at surprisingly low prices.

Roovy is for fashionistas with tight budgets and perseverant temperament as it needs a lot of patience to hunt for that one amazing piece amidst a pile of clothes.

Once the shopping bug bites you, it gets pretty infectious and doesn’t let you off with just clothes. As you continue walking down the street, you can’t help but notice the bright pink hoarding that screams for your attention- ‘ Dora’s Bag Mall’. Whoever said that bright colors were only for the Summers? It’s actually raining colors at Dora’s Bag Mall this rainy season. The colors are plenty ranging from bright summery shades and glowing neons to pleasant pastels and are offered to you as bags, wallets and footwear.

Cute, pretty, quirky and fun- These are possibly a few words that could be used to describe the flip-flops on offer here. A wide range of footwear on sale here including stilettos, wedges and ballerina pumps.

Next is the bags’ section. There are totes, duffels, satchels and handbags in jute, synthetic leather and rexine. Although the synthetic leather bags are more strict and functional, the rexine and jute bags are a riot of colors, patterns and surface embellishments. The jute bags really caught my fancy for the colourful pieces that they were. These bags, apart from adding to your fashion quotient, also add to your pride on being friendly to Mother Earth.  The purses and wallets are a world of their own and are placed right next to the cash counter. They come in so many different shapes and sizes that even as you open your wallet to pay, you can’t help but feel that your wallet needs an upgradation.
